Take me to your heart where it all began.

Trying to catch up!

Since my camera broke, I can only use it when it's held together by tape. As it is slowly falling apart every time I remove the tape to charge it, I try to do it as rarely as possible. As a result my updates here are really delayed. I'm sad about it but I don't have the funds to buy a new camera.

It's raining today. It's wonderful. I love listening to the rain. And it's a bit cooler. I'm not good with the temperatures in Japan. I can't sleep when it's this hot. But today we are finally getting some rain.
Esben and the father are not happy as they are going out. But I plan to read all day, and I'm ot leaving this house. What a bliss!

My blog today has two themes: Saying goodbye to Rune and Torsten, and introducing a new favorite place of mine; Studio AKAT.

Line left in early July, which left me with the boys for our last month of the internship. In the last two weeks we went out to eat a couple of times.

Rune at La Hacienda, a great Mexican restaurant at a rooftop near the Embassy in Daikanyama. We went there pretty often for lunch. The Sangria is awesome.
 Rune's Lunch.
 My lunch, yum!
A couple of days later we went out for hamburger lunch at Sasa's. A real neat place with retro interior design. And nice burgers!

I guess I won't see the boys like this again. Of course they will be in Denmark, and we can meet there. But not like this. It doesn't make me sad, but it's a funny thought. I guess I'm getting better at endings.

We went to AKAT the first time together. First we had Sushi. They made silly faces. Torsten is making romantic approaches on the sushi.
I guess I like them better like this (now at AKAT).
But they seem to prefer doing the silly poses. They went home early as they had other plans, but I stayed and talked to my friend, Yoshino Shoutarou. I also met him at Jørgen and Albrecht's place in early April, and we've been hanging out since. Now he's art director at Studio AKAT, which, of course, is why I got Rune and Torsten to go there in the first place.
I had so much fun I missed my last train home. AKAT is in Shimo-Kitasawa, annoyingly far from my home. The owner of AKAT, Whom I refer to as Shachou (Boss), came as well and time just flew.
 View from AKAT's big windows.
No traffic at all. Shachou invited us and another friend of Shoutarou's over to his other café for breakfast.
Like AKAT the interior design was really cool.
 I loved the morning light.
 We never really got tired.
Freshly baked bread. It was awesome.
I love bookshelves. They make me feel really comfortable somehow.
The chandelier was sort of misplaced.
 Breakfast!
We had bread, salad, coffee and wine.
Shachou behind the bar, Shoutarou opening yet another bottle. Time didn't seem to matter to any of us.
But at some point, we did go home.
I talked to Shachou about my dissatisfaction with most coffee in Japan. Overcome by (alcohol and) sympathy he gave me a bag of high quality coffee beans. I was happy, but told him that I could not take them, as I didn't have a coffee grinder. He didn't accept no for an answer, and instead handed me a coffee grinder, a coffee pot and a stack of coffee filters, and told me to hand it back when I leave Japan. Baffled I took it all and carried it home.

Kaori and I now take coffee every morning. It's delicious.
