And turn the white snow red as strawberries in summertime.

This is part two of our cozy summer house trip:

 Grill night!
Three of my absolute favorites: Asparagus, Satsuma potato and Japanese pumpkin.
 Cute and delicious fish.
 Synne having a stare-off.
 It's done! Yummy!
Homegrown Japanese green pepper! Another favorite of mine.
 Breakfast outside again.
We were up relatively early, as we were going on a trip.
Tsuchiya made an awesome omelet with pumpkin and green pepper! Yummy!

We cleaned the summerhouse, packed our stuff and headed for Nikko, before going back to Tokyo. We didn't have that much time so we only visited Tôsho-Gû.

Usually boddhisattvas dressed in red marks places where a child has passed away. I wonder what happened here.
We went there right after heavy rainfall, and the shrine had a very dreamy feel to it.
Nønne looking back.
The shrine fit well with the surroundings.
Marking Tokugawa superiority: Lots of gold!
 The famous three monkeys.
I wasn't the only one taking photos.
A guy came running down these stairs and slipped. He didn't hurt himself, but his friends laughed a lot. He turned to me and Rune, spread his arms out in a triumphant gesture and said "Okay!!"
Okay it is.
 Synne!
Nikko is said to be extremely crowded, but there were hardly anyone there. People are staying away from the north.
I loved the moss.
 Beautiful colours.
 Ornamentations depicting trees and birds.
 Tsuchiya-san climbing the stairs.
The mausoleum of Tokugawa Ieyasu. (As a japanologist, this visit brought about great nerd satisfaction.)
That concluded our lovely weekend. (Rune ran away from the camera)
In complete unrelated Tokyo news: Ma-on never came.
