I was looking at you there and your face looked wrong

It's Kenkokukinenbi so I don't have to go to work.

Kathrine arrived yesterday and is jetlag-sleeping in my room while I watch Korean music videos in the living room.  Hardly any bands I didn't know, a lot of song from last year and no GD or T.O.P representation. Pretty disappointing. I guess Daniel is a better source of Korean music than Japanese television.

Yesterday we went to Pengin, Kaori's dads coffee parlor for dinner. The Pengin is a great place, it looks like time has been standing still there for the last 30 years or so. And Kaori's dad is a great chef! Esben had this delicious sandwich and a soda float.
We had a fantastic spaghetti dish with roe, dried seaweed, tabasco and parmesan cheese. I didn't take a picture because the combination of my hunger and the brilliant taste of the dish made me eat it too fast.
For dessert we had the famous homemade pudding. I usually hate pudding but this one was amazing. It's definitely worth going to the Pengin just to have this.

Last weekend we went out for yakiniku with Kaori's girlfriends. Yakiniku is such a social way to eat and it's so good, especially with a heap of kimchi on the side!

A couple of days ago we went to a discount kaitensushi restaurant called Sushiro, and got a nice meal for about 500 yen each.
Almost all plates were 105 yen.

Esben had some corn salad sushi. We also had tuna (or was it salmon) with cheese and basil. It tasted like pizza. Strange stuff. Speaking of strange stuff Kaori bought a cheesecake-orange flavoured softdrink on the way home. It tasted awful.
We'll that's it for food news I guess!! Nice words I've been trying to learn include: 議論教育 & なせばなる. I started writing a diary in the book Hiromi-chan gave me at my farewell party. Kaori has agreed to correct my mistakes, so I believe I'll be able to upgrade my language a bit.

Have a nice weekend!
