Oh it's the same old tune

I attended the huge anti nuclear demonstration yesterday. Now, before we proceed I'd like to point out that I'm not 100% against nuclear power. Actually I'm inclined to be in favor of it. But I was invited by mother, and I thought the chance was too great to be missed. This was going to be a huge demonstration, and I hoped to see some Japanese taking a political stance. Furthermore Oe Kenzaburou was going to give a speech. How could I not go?

 We arrived around 1 PM.
We were organized according to ku and union.
 German demonstrators.
A lot of article 9 signs, t-shirts and slogans.
Roughly translates: "We've already received plenty of radiation! We don't need any more nuclear plants! Don't run them anymore! It cannot be undone!"
We waited for hours for our groups turn to join the demonstration before we decided to sneak off and mingle with others.
Close to Shinjuku. The line of people just continued in front and behind us.
Children with signs.

There where too many people, so we never got even close to Oe. Actually we never even got close to a place where we could hear the speakers (insert sigh of relief). Organizers said around 60.000 people participated, the news report something between 20.000 and 40.000. It was fun. But very different. Danes demonstrate in a very different way.

Less organization, more beer.
