If music is my lover, you are just a tease.

I've been busy again. I'm not good at updating.

It's seems an eternity have passed since my last post. I did a lot of things.

More people came to Japan. This time my parents and aunt and uncle. We went to Hakone and relaxed.
A very japanesque picture from Hakone. The weather was sort of cloudy but the food was great and we never really left the onsen anyway. I also took them to Kyoto for some more Japaneseness.
Gion. We even saw a real Maiko. She was gorgeous.
 Nice view of the city.
 Delicious green tea.
 Old fashion streets.
 Same.
Makoto and her fiance came to meet us. They seemed great together, and I'm very happy for them.
My uncle kinda sceptically trying maccha ice cream, but he liked it!
Some cute crabs for sale at a small fish market.

My parents (sitting on the floor!) in a small restaurant.

I took one day off from my family to hang out with Kit. We decided to go to Nara. I was in Nara many many years ago, and it was very nostalgic to come back. Toudaiji is probably one of my top 5 favorite temples. Its size makes me feel safe somehow. And it was lovely relaxing with Kit, not doing much and talking for hours.
Kit being touristy!
The HUGE Toudaiji, towering over the tiny people.

Back in Tokyo I was working at day (we had a special guest), but at night we were together.
My aunt! It was so nice to see her and everybody again.
I also arranged for my family to meet some of my best friends. We met Gen, and ate at my host family's house. And I took them to Yokohama to meet a lot of great people, most importantly Maa.

One evening we ate at legendary sukiyaki restaurant Imahan:
Vegetables, glass noodles and tofu
Meat. Obviously. It was delicious!!

After my family left a lot of things happened. But I guess I'll write about them at some other point. Or maybe never.

Today I visited the Tokyo Museum of Modern Art, which is actually located very close to our house. I went with Esben and Rune. Yeah, Esben's back in the house. It's very nice. Actually the entire atmosphere in the house has been nicer since Kaoris vacation started and Esben came back. It's invigorating somehow.

At the museum we saw Kohei Nawa. I loved it.

And it's summer. Summer means setsuden! Here's a cute sign at a closed down electric gate to Shinjuku Gyoen Park:
I'm doing my best to endure the heat.

Today I learned that the correct verb for applying kitchen wrap is かける (Kakeru), and that in Japan Tuberculosis is still a big problem. (Which immediately led to fantasizing about an angsty, decadent, poetic 19th century death). I guess this is a product of my own ignorance, and actually it seems we have quite a lot of tuberculosis cases on Greenland as well. Naruhodo.
